Kurdistan women Union message regarding the sixteen days of violence against women
Violence against women is a social phenomenon which is globally
witnessed, and it is a reflection of the wrong behavior among family members
and the society on the women.
Moreover, there are new methods and manners internationally and
regionally, especially in KRI, to decrease and also prevent the rate of such
social phenomenon, despite all these attempts there still needs to more
mechanisms and tools to rase awareness about respecting women rights and
prioritizing the idea of humanism on every join point of the society.
Violence based on gender has a bold reflection on the life of our women,
this sort of violence is a demonstration of gender inequality, it also can
cause suppression of human rights specially
The rights of women such as,
sexual harassment, the physical abuse, human trafficking and violating their
rights. With regards of these elaborations Kurdistan women union have designed a roadmap to decrease and also
prevent all forms of violence against women. The preservation of our
institution is on the concept of yes to partnership and saying no to ownership
no more. This refers to having the both genders coexisting with one another
based on the idea of being each other’s partners and the participation of both
genders for strengthening the foundations of life and family. Also equal rights
of owning property for both genders and returning the human validation back to
our women’s life.
In addition, the governmental plans for refraction and reforms in regard
of women issues have been reached to a higher level at the same time. There
for, it can be said that the KRG is one of the main actors in the arena of
preventing violence against women. Our women now are participating in ruling
vital sectors and considering the women right’s cruciality has escaladed the
perspective of our society in regards of women’s abilities and capabilities
which is a positive point of the government to be mentioned and should resume
on giving it a higher image and cause improvements.
In such international events, it is to send our deepest regard to those
who were victims of an invalid and incorrect ideology that was driven from
specific cultures and also those women who had to sacrifice because of the
existence of patriarchy.
